"Tell me why," he asks, demanding playfully, because if Jedao is going to hit that praise kink, then he might as well do it right.

Jedao hums, running his fingers through Iago's hair now.

"Because...you were both truly hurt. You must have put hope and affection above the urge to hurt back, to be vindictive and safe and invulnerable. That's a difficult and brave thing for anyone to do, and even moreso when you've rarely or never had that choice rewarded before. So I'm proud."

He pulls back and takes another drink, enjoying the taste of it even more now. "Thank you, tesoro. Now. tell me about your gossip. It's been quite busy."

Jedao huffs out a sigh, leaning shamelessly into Iago's chest and fiddling with his buttons.

"My gossip is all sad and annoying, yours is better."

He sucks a bit of air through his teeth and reaches up to tuck Jedao's hair behind his ear so he can kiss his cheek. "Do you want to talk about it?"

He figures the answer is now, considering the deflection, but he'll ask up front anyway, just in case.

"I'll tell you when I've either got good news or at least entertainingly awful news," he promises. Right now it's just confusing and disappointing.

He kisses him again. "Then may I at least offer you a distraction to cheer you?" he wonders. "Seeing as my news cannot be drawn out much longer."
