As mentioned, I did speak to Givens-san and Roy-san. I've made arrangements with Roy-san, the only person I feel has been wronged in this, for recompense.
If you take issue with what I said or how I conducted things, I'm willing to take criticism, but I admit that I won't be moved to submit to Flint-san's demands. I hope you can understand.

I do think...demanding a prisoner deal with a guard in good faith is not a trivial request. And he isn't acting like a child. He's acting desperate. There is a difference.
I'm well aware. I've spent more time in his position than I have as a warden.

Trying to match up the various levels of power in the different categories and satisfy everything isn't something he sees happening. ]
The problem being that his desperation is of his own making. Givens-san and Roy-san are both satisfied, safe, and whole.

But I'd appreciate it if you could see to not insulting him further. When we both know the role pride plays for so many of those involved.

He's a professional. And a practical man. He hasn't survived in the world he's lived in without avoiding trouble he can. His pride is second to that, even if it can be wounded. And he has pride in that sense.
He follows his own code, strictly. Implying otherwise is an insult. But he's still a pirate. A criminal.
We had criminals - petty crimes, or crimes of passion, and border smugglers that exist on the factions' sufferance, the better to help smuggle our agents across when called upon. But nothing...nothing with community. Unless it's heresy and treason.
Anything from innocent mistakes to open rebellion.

It’s different now, with the Compact. But it’s only been two years since the fall of the Hexarchate, so any underworlds starting up are probably still local.
