I didn't tell him he had no good reason to be upset. I was confused more than anything else. I thought he was telling me my inmate did something to his inmate because he wanted it taken care of. And I said I would take care of it. I didn't feel upset until much later in the conversation when he started giving me lessons on masking.
Memorize some sympathetic sentences, so when someone tells me anything unpleasant, I guess, I can say a Stock Sentence from the Sympathy Sentence Pool that will make them think I have feelings.
